WordPress today launched the latest release of their CMS system WordPress 2.8 named “Baker”. We have been using WordPress 2.8 in beta form for the past month and are very impressed with the speed of the wp-admin interface. It is remarkable the progression WordPress has made over the past 12 months to their wp-admin. Not only have a world of gadgets been introduced and speed increased but the styling (beauty) of the admin system is much better than before.

Undoubtedly, over the past 12 months WordPress has cemented their position as the number 1 and most popular CMS for blogs across the World.

Listing Press is a new WordPress plugin developed to allow real estate agents and other bloggers in the United States with the opportunity to display real estate listings within their personal or business blogs. Listing Press draws properties through IDX providers who redirect the MLS information into an independent blog or website.

This is great as it means the blog or website owner can display the property data in what ever format they like and it improves website SEO. How? Well by doing so, your site will now contain all the content and keywords that home buyers are searching for.

This is the second WordPress plugin (in as many months) to be released in the United States designed to drag 3rd party real estate and property listing information into a blog. I guess this highlights how popular WordPress has become, it is the number one blogging platform and as you can see through our work at Agentpoint is a great foundation to build a website from.

Foreclosure.com a leading American real estate portal has just launched a WordPress property listing plugin allowing website owners to display the portal’s property listings. The plugin is designed for real estate agents who have a WordPress built website and also to be installed on real estate agent blogs allowing agents to show property listings along side their blog.

This not only highlights the popularity of WordPress built real estate websites but also that real estate blogging in America is becoming one of the most popular ways for agents to showcase their profile and engage with their local community. Blogging is both easy and completely free, not to mention enjoyable as you can write about anything you choose.

So get your WordPress blog up now and don’t forget that Agentpoint are WordPress specialist so if you need a hand then let us know.

Agentpoint have announced the passing of Internet Explorer 6 (IE6 ). f you are one of the few remaining people using this dastardly, viscous, software I suggest you upgrade to Internet Explorer 7, Safari, Opera or the fastest growing browser Firefox.

As Wired reports “IE 6, released in 2001, is the scourge of web programmers, user-experience designers and technical-support staff alike. The browser is stacked with quirks that cause web pages to render differently from all other browsers, and special considerations must be taken by web builders to accommodate users running IE 6.”

So we bid adieu to this infected sore and no longer support this software in any of our current websites/system or future websites systems.
